During the hike, we'll traverse beautiful pine forests and get great views of the volcano's smoking sulfuric cone, we may even see some small eruptions of lava!įrom the mountainside, we'll also enjoy excellent views of the Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango volcanoes. Once we arrive at the trailhead in San Vicente de Pacaya, we'll set off on our hike up the Pacaya Volcano. One small point on note, we speak decent spanish, so all our communications were in spanish and the drivers did not appear to know much english. We paid the drivers in local currency which we procured at home before traveling to Guatemala.
